Beginning the Guuliil Fashion Project
Welcome to our brand-new website: Guuliil! We’re so excited to share our adventure throughout the 2020 Hope Vale x QUT project.

Our beautiful logo was designed by our branding specialist Riley Harding. Featuring Wanda Gibson’s jellyfish artwork, the logo cleverly reflects the project essence through the strong jellyfish references. Speaking with Riley, he said “I wanted to incorporate the unique artwork that Hope Vale created, with the jellyfish being the main inspiration and the concept of the logo. From that I wanted to tie in the tentacles as a way to form the collection name 'Guuliil'. Overall the logo embodies the artwork and the collection that Guuliil is trying to achieve through its designs for CIAF.”
Hope Vale x QUT has so many elements and we’d love for you to join us on this journey from concept to creation. In order to immerse you in the full project experience, we’re creating a series of episodes that share exclusive behind the scenes work. You can watch our first episode ‘Inspirations and Conceptualisation’ now.
We are also working hard to introduce you to the incredible artists from the Hope Vale Art & Culture Centre in Far North Queensland. You can also meet us, the design team and media team behind the project, lead by two amazing industry practitioners; Lydia Pearson and Hilde Heim. You can read all about our background and connection to the project in our first blog post ‘Hope Vale x QUT: Who are we?’. Ultimately our website will showcase the Guuliil runway collection.

The Guuliil website highlights many components of the Hope Vale X QUT project, and seeks to create an informative and design inspired space for the broader community to get involved.
Guuliil.com was created by our talented website designer Emma Ruddick. In an exclusive interview with Emma she said “I wanted the website to be a reflection of both the garments and the artworks themselves. Everything is designed with the artworks in mind, whether it be the colours, fonts or content, I wanted everything to tie back to the art.” Whilst talking about the colour pallet for the website Emma said “I extracted the colours from the artwork on the landing page and used those colours throughout the entire website.”
